Planes Dalcross International Airport is 9.7 miles from Inverness. There is a frequent bus service between the airport and city centre and taxis are available outside the Terminal Building.

Coaches Scottish Citylink cover almost all the major routes within Scotland and Inverness has regular coach connections with Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fort William, Oban, Ullapool, Aberdeen, Wick, Isle of Skye, etc. Megabus is a new budget double decker bus service operating between Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Perth, Aberdeen and Inverness. Stagecoach Buses operate on local routes (e.g. Inverness city centre, Strathpeffer, Beauly, Cromarty, Dingwall, etc.). Ferries
NorthLink Ferries travel to Orkney and Shetland. Their network covers some of the most beautiful and dramatic places in Scotland. Pentland Ferries cross the Pentland Firth to Orkney. The crossing takes approximately one hour during which you will sail through the Pentland Firth and into the Orkney Archipelago. This is the shortest and quickest sea route to Orkney with your car.
